At this incredibly difficult time it is vital that the community come together and closely follow the guidance being issued by the Government, the NHS and the Council.
This is an unprecedented situation and we all have a part to play in helping to beat COVID-19.
Local Councillor Anton Georgiou, along with a number of local residents has helped to set up the ‘Alperton Community Action Group’, which now has dozens of local volunteers who are helping to deliver shopping to self-isolating vulnerable and elderly residents and offering friendly chats to local people in what is an extremely lonely time for some.
On Saturday 7th March, local Councillor Anton Georgiou, helped to organise the first Alperton Clean Up Day. Local residents and volunteers from across London, including from Siobhan Benita’s Gold Squad joined to start the much needed clean up of the area. In total over 40 bags of rubbish were collected from streets around the Abbey Estate and Heather Park.
Anton said, “It was really positive to have so many people join us for the first Alperton Clean Up Day. When I was elected I said that my main focus would be to ensure that we get to grips with what is a major littering and fly tipping issue in the area. I will be helping to arrange more action days like this in the coming weeks and months.

Firstly, I want to put on record my thanks to the people of Alperton for electing me as their new Liberal Democrat Councillor. I would also like to thank the officers here at the Civic Centre for giving me a very warm welcome since my election just under a month ago.
The people of Alperton have sent a simple message to Brent Council and the Labour Administration. - STOP neglecting us.
New Lib Dem Councillor starts clean up campaign.
New Liberal Democrat Councillor Anton Georgiou has completed his induction at the Council offices and is looking forward to getting on with the work in Alperton.
